Q: Why do I need to create an account to use ServiceForMe.com?
A: By creating an account, you are able to access all the features that ServiceForMe.com offers. An account is free, and we collect only minimal data. A single account can be used for all purposes.
Q: Once I create an account, how do I know if I'm a consumer or provider?
A: You can be either one, or both. It's up to you. Consumers create projects. Providers create profiles.
Q: Can I have both projects and profiles under my account?
A: Yes. An account would typically have no more than one profile, but you could have several projects.
Q: How is the Text Messaging information used?
A: You can have ServiceForMe.com send you a text message alert when some interaction between consumer and provider is pending. The text message alerts are for questions/comments, identification photo requests, invitations, and recommendations. The Text Messaging applies to all projects.
Q: How is the Identification Photo used?
A: A consumer identification photo might be requested by a provider when the consumer must visit the provider's home in order to complete the project. A common example of this situation would be a parent (consumer) picking up a babysitter (provider). The Identification Photo is associated with all projects.
Q: How do I remove my account?
A: Click on My Account or View Account, then click on Remove Account.

Q: What exactly is a project?
A: A project is created by a consumer. It's a definition of the work you need done by a provider.
Q: What can I include in my project?
A: A few things are required, such as a name, an email address, a zip code (or Canadian postal code), a maximum driving distance, and a specific service/skill. You can also include search terms, languages, and uploaded files.
Q: How does a provider's profile match my project?
A: The provider's profile must include the same service/skill. Your zip code must be within the provider's maximum driving distance. The provider's zip code must be within your maximum driving distance.
Q: How can I tell what caused a provider's profile to match my project?
A: You can check the Match Details on the Matched Providers page.
Q: How can I see the contact information for a provider that matched my project?
A: You can click on the provider name or select the provider and click View Provider Information.
Q: How do I change a provider's status?
A: Switch to Summary view on the Matched Providers page and select the desired status from the drop-down list for a particular provider.
Q: How do I know if any new providers have recently been added to the website?
A: You can click the Check for More Provider Matches Now button at any time. You can also ask the website to notify you when new providers become available by specifying how many days to watch and clicking the Watch... button on the Matched Providers page.
Q: Can I change an existing project and get new search results?
A: Yes, change the project as desired then click the Check for More Provider Matches Now button. Any providers found previously will remain in your list.
Q: How do I contact a provider?
A: You can view the provider information and contact the provider directly, or you can ask the website to send one or more providers an email message on your behalf.
Q: How do I ask the website to send an email message to the provider for me?
A: Switch to Summary view on the Matched Providers page and click the Invite button for a particular provider.
Q: How does an identification photo request work?
A: When you click the Photo button for a provider the website sends a request email message to the provider. You will receive an email message when the provider responds. You may want to request an identification photo, if one is available, when the provider must come to your home in order to complete the project.
Q: How do I submit a review for a provider?
A: You can click the Review button for the provider on the Matched Providers page. You can rate the provider on a 1 to 5 scale and you can enter comments if you wish.
Q: How do I remove a project?
A: Select the project on the My Projects page and click on Remove Project.
Providers - Users looking to FIND WORK
Q: What exactly is a profile?
A: A profile is created by a provider. It's a definition of the work you are ready to do for consumers.
Q: What can I include in my profile?
A: A few things are required, such as a name, an email address, a zip code (or Canadian postal code), a maximum driving distance, and a specific service/skill. You can also include search terms, languages, and uploaded files.

A: You can use the Contact History view on the Matched Projects page to see which parts of your information have been viewed for each project.
Q: Can I search for matching consumer projects?
A: The ServiceForMe.com website was designed to have consumers pick the provider of their choice from among the providers that specifically match their project. The only way for a provider to contact a consumer is through a message post after a match has been made for a particular project. So, relax, and let your ServiceForMe.com profile attract attention for you.
Q: How do I get contacted by consumers about completing their projects?
A: Consumers can contact you directly after viewing your provider information. They can also contact you through email messages coming from the website to ask if you are interested in their projects.
Q: What if I have questions about a consumer's project?
A: You can post a message for the consumer. Select the particular project on the Matched Projects page and click the Post a New Message button.
Q: How do I get paid for completing a project?
A: The cost for completing a project, as well as the actual payment, is a private matter strictly between you and the consumer. ServiceForMe.com does not get involved in the transaction in any way.
Q: How do I remove a profile?
A: Select the profile on the My Profiles page and click on Remove Profile.
