Connecting Consumers With Service Providers
Security
At ServiceForMe.com, we believe that user security is extremely important. We have taken several extra measures to offer users (consumers and providers) a variety of security features. Here are some examples of the many security features that ServiceForMe.com has implemented to help protect our users.
Message Systems
ServiceForMe.com gives consumers and providers the option to communicate via messages sent through the website. Some kinds of messages are always private between one consumer and one provider, while other kinds of messages are optionally visible to all the potential providers. The message systems allow consumers and providers to interact while keeping consumer contact information private, if they choose. Provider contact information is readily available (by necessity), but only to consumers who have actively searched for help and found matching providers.
Identification Photos
A provider can choose to upload an identification photo. An identification photo stays private unless/until the provider agrees to release it to a specific consumer. A consumer may ask for an identification photo (if one is available), but such a request would be valid only after a provider agrees to complete a consumer’s project. An identification photo request causes an email message notice to be sent to a provider and the provider accepts or rejects the request on ServiceForMe.com. If the request is accepted the consumer is notified with an email message and the provider’s identification photo can be viewed on ServiceForMe.com.
The consumer can use an identification photo to identify a provider when they come to complete the consumer’s project. An identification photo can be replaced by the provider, but all previous versions are retained within the system for potential reference by ServiceForMe.com in compliance with any and all law enforcement activity.
A consumer can choose to upload an identification photo as well, and a matched provider can request to see it. This option might be used when the consumer comes to the physical location of the provider, such as when a parent picks up a babysitter. In this case, the provider (babysitter) may want to request an identification photo from the consumer (parent) to have some assurance that the project (babysitting) is legitimate.
Identification photos are watermarked when presented for viewing to guard against any inappropriate use.
Reviews/Recommendations
A consumer can submit a review/recommendation for any provider who has been matched to his/her project. Some websites regard user submitted reviews as their property and deem them to be the value the websites offer. They actually charge buyers to see the reviews of sellers. ServiceForMe.com regards user submitted reviews as a community resource. The reviews are a way to help ensure high quality providers. The reviews support and reward the providers who are able to satisfy consumers. The providers who consistently disappoint consumers will have their profiles suspended. Suspension is based on an unacceptable ratio of negative reviews to positive reviews and is at the sole discretion of ServiceForMe.com.
These security features have been implemented to protect both consumers and providers.
